Hi,
My name is Nikki Malott I was born and raised in Logansport Indiana. I have been married for 17 years and we have two kids. I have been volunteering/working with nonprofits in some capacity for over 25 years.
I’m running for Eel Township Trustee because I believe I could provide a unique/effective approach to this position. By collaborating with others in the community we will spend time focusing on prevention. My proposal is that we attempt to prevent the crisis from ever occurring. I’m committed to strengthening community partnerships, improving access to resources, and ensuring every resident is treated with dignity and respect.

What Does the Township Trustee Do?
The Township Trustee helps provide emergency assistance, oversees township resources, and ensures residents have access to basic support when needed.
I believe the role should focus on both help AND prevention.
⭐ My 3 MAIN PRIORITIES ⭐
1. Support Before Crisis
Helping families access resources early, not after they’ve hit rock bottom.
2. Stronger Community Partnerships
Working with local organizations, schools, nonprofits, and service providers to get more done together.
3. Transparency & Accessibility
Making township services easy to understand, easy to access, and easy to trust. Securing additional financial supports for the community will also be a top priority.
My name is Nikki (Nikole) Malott, and above all else, I am a devoted wife and mother. My family is my world; we love spending time outdoors kayaking, camping, fishing, and boating. My husband serves as a correctional officer, and I work part-time for a local nonprofit. Our children, LeeAnn and Zakary, attend Logansport Schools, and we are proud to call this community home. I also have a number of nieces and nephews that I adore. I am an avid "Jeeper" as well.
The challenges I faced growing up have uniquely prepared me to serve as your Eel Township Trustee. As the oldest of five children in a family that struggled to make ends meet, I was acutely aware of the financial worries and instability many families face. These early experiences instilled in me a deep sense of empathy and a drive to ensure no one in our community has to navigate crisis alone.
For over 25 years, I have dedicated myself to community service through both volunteering and professional nonprofit leadership. My career has involved supporting the elderly and individuals with developmental disabilities at Cardinal Services and Help at Home, as well as assisting low-income families through the Head Start program at Area Five. Most recently, I have spent over a decade with the Youth Services Alliance, where I have managed critical state and federal grants.
My work has always focused on community collaboration and keeping our youth safe and drug-free. As Trustee, I will apply this expertise to prioritize prevention alongside responsive support. Through my involvement with organizations like the Zero Suicide Taskforce, Habitat for Humanity, and the Rural Empowerment and Development (RED) program, I identify and fill the service gaps in Cass County. I also have my own nonprofit Project HOPE 929 Inc. with a mission to Help Other People Everyday! As an active Chamber member and the 2025 Ambassador of the Year, I know that collaboration is the foundation of a thriving community.
We cannot assist our community if we stay in our silos; we must work together for the good of Logansport and Cass County. I encourage you to learn more about the vital position of Trustee and humbly ask for your vote this November. Please reach out with any questions or concerns you may have.
